What are GHz?
AGigahertz (GHz or GHz for short)is a radio signal meant to send and receive data. This type of connection is the basis for all Wi-Fi networks- your router is the device that encodes (sends) and decodes (listens and receives) this signal.
Why 2.4 GHz?
The 2.4 GHz band was initially the only band for all Wi-Fi connections. Baby monitors, wireless keyboards, and many other devices rely on this connection to be stable.
Although 2.4 GHz isn't as fast as 5 GHz, it has a longer wavelength, and thus travels easier through solid objects. Most smart devices (not just Mobi Connect) will require 2.4 GHz as they are designed for long distances.
Additionally, at-home Wi-Fi's rarely don't have a 2.4 GHz band to connect to. Issues with connecting your Mobi device are likely due to how the router directs devices to its various bands.

You can go to the back of your router to find information about how to access your Admin Settings. Usually, you have to type in an I.P. address into your phone or computer browser, log in with the security key found on the same section where you found your I.P. login, and switch your Guest2.4 GHz Wi-Fi from OFF to On. Then either wait for 10 minutes or restart your router and both your 2.4 GHz & 5 GHz signals should now be active.
Also, there could be an option to disable the 5 GHz band to force all devices to the 2.4 GHz band (then the user will re-enable the 5 GHz band after).
Each router that requires disabling the 5 GHz band for connection to the 2.4 GHz band has certain steps; both by the user directly, and/or the ISP remotely.
