The HealthCheck Thermometer is a versatile and easy-to-use device that provides accurate readings in both Fahrenheit and Celsius. It’s factory-set to Fahrenheit by default, but you can easily switch between units. Below, you’ll find step-by-step instructions for changing temperature units, taking measurements, and setting the time and date.
How to Change Between Fahrenheit and Celsius
The HealthCheck Thermometer is programmed to conserve battery power, so it will automatically turn off if there's too much inactivity. To change the temperature unit from Fahrenheit to Celsius (or vice versa), follow these steps:
-
Open the battery compartment.
-
Press the black button labeled "C/F" to switch between Fahrenheit (°F) and Celsius (°C).
How to Take Different Types of Temperature Measurements
The HealthCheck Thermometer is designed to measure forehead, ear, object, and room temperatures. Here's how to use each mode:
-
Forehead Temperature:
Gently place the thermometer against the center of the forehead and press the Scan button to begin measuring. -
Ear Temperature:
Remove the forehead probe cap, then gently insert the ear probe into the ear canal. Press the Scan button to get an accurate ear temperature reading. -
Object or Room Temperature:
Press the Middle Home Button to enter object/room temperature mode, then press the Scan button to begin measuring the temperature of the object or room.
How to Set the Time and Date
To ensure accurate tracking of temperature measurements over time, you'll need to set the time and date on your Health Check Thermometer. Here's how to do it:
-
Press and hold the 'SET' button until you hear a beep. The display will start flashing '12HR' or '24HR' depending on your current setting.
-
Press the 'MEM' button to toggle between the two formats (12-hour or 24-hour clock).
-
Once you’ve selected your preferred time format, press the 'SET' button to move to the next setting.
-
Press the 'MEM' button again to adjust the hour, then press 'SET' to confirm.
-
Repeat the process for minutes, date, and any other settings, pressing 'MEM' to adjust and 'SET' to confirm.
-
After you’ve completed all settings, the thermometer will save your adjustments.
